LIMPIDH2O® allows the removal of sediment without contact with the seabed, maintaining a vacuum field around the excavation point in order to avoid material spillage and the consequent phenomenon of sediment resuspension, as occurs in traditional dredging operations. The absence of material spills is decisive in operating in protected areas or in the presence of contaminated agents; in fact, avoiding giving rise to turbidity phenomena means avoiding the uncontrolled, and moreover uncontrollable, spread of pollutants.
LIMPIDH2O® technology allows advantageously in-process dewatering and grading of sediment, extraction of any foreign bodies (branches, litter, chains, etc.) in the absence of water withdrawal from the water body.
LIMPIDH2O® technology advantageously allows both dewatering and sediment grading to be performed in process. Sludge, therefore, which may represent only a percentage of the extracted sediment, is isolated and dewatered, so that its handling and reuse are made more efficient and economical.
LIMPIDH2O® technology combines environmental friendliness with resource recovery and is able to optimize the economic benefit of all operations in the entire process. Compared with traditional dredging techniques and related sediment disposal requirements, the ecnonomic advantage of LIMPIDH2O® technology is not limited to the algebraic sum of the cost chain related to dredging and landfilling, but is also related to the actual recovery of sediment, which is thus enhanced and reused. The economic savings of DECOMAR's LIMPIDH2O® technology thus extend to the valorization of sediment, with the knowledge that sediment is an indispensable resource of our ecosystem.
